This is something that’s been on my mind for quite a while, especially after all the shit went down regarding Vampires Everywhere, then all that stuff that happened regarding what Ronnie Radke said to Nick of Get Scared. All of this is MY personal thoughts, so re-blog if you want, but don’t use what is said without giving me credit.
For the longest time people said music was a universal symbol. It was supposed to be something everyone could agree upon and lean against when times got tough. Music was supposed to be something every person understood, even if you didn’t speak the same language as another person. It was supposed to be able to bring peace to everyone, never causing wars or battles or arguments. But lately it seems as if everything is the exact opposite of the original meaning. Now it’s about fans fighting other fans, starting fights and wars over whether or not you and someone else share the same interests in a band. Suddenly, if the band you like doesn’t like another band, then it’s up to the fans to start battling other fans over who is right or wrong, which band is better, and which member is hottest (IE: ETF vs FIR, BVB vs MIW -when that happened- and so on). When it comes to fans, it’s no longer about the band itself or the music. Everything’s changed. When did music turn so violent? When did artists/musicians begin taking sides and egging their fans on? When did it become “if you’re a fan of me/my band, then you can’t be a fan to another band”? When did it turn so negative, cold and cruel? As for the bands and musicians: you shouldn’t be taking sides and egging your fans on. That’s not how you rise to the top and that’s NOT how you keep a fan-base. Don’t let the fame get to your heads and don’t forget the reasons you got to the point you’re at. Don’t start letting your fans fight your battles, because you begin losing the fans who have had your backs for the longest time and since the beginning of your career. Don’t start turning your backs on those who matter and those fans who have fought tooth and nail to promote for you and who have worked their asses off to help you get any type of fan-base. And if you do, don’t get angry or be surprised when your fan number starts gradually lowering. And for the fans themselves: Take a step back. Shut up and just listen to the music already! Stop the arguments, stop the annoying fangirling, stop trying to be an underage groupie (for those who are underage), and stop driving other fans away. It’s getting ridiculous. :/ Idk what else to say except what was once the world of music, is now a dog-eat-dog world and bands battling to get the biggest fan-base and trying to get the most sold records and so on and so on. Just stop. Bring music back to what it was originally meant to be. Or don’t get started in the first place. The whole thing is bullshit. :/ The true die-hard fans just want to go to concerts, listen to the music and connect with the idols they look up to, those who inspire the fans, those who the fans can depend on. Think of how much music has saved lives. How much it was always been something to stand for when you had nothing else. What ever happened to that? Where did the feelings of security and safety go? Seriously…. :( ~End rant~

As do I. Why do you gotta pick sides? And before you bring up how much I hate Ronnie and FIR, just know it’s not because...
